I wish my heart would feel what my head knows every day.
Boldness in my future, confidence in my hopes and dreams.
But there are some days when it just all feels dark and alone. I squeeze my eyes and hush the doubts because I know He hears and sees me.
Sometimes life does not go as planned. Hearts are broken. Lives are never to be the same. From those ashes, hopes and dreams are tucked into those broken pieces of our heart and a season of healing, refining and persevering begins.
My friend, can I reassure you He hears your whispers in the night for comfort? When you are pressed, He bends His ear to your cries for relief. The weeping of our sorrow does not go unnoticed. His heart is tender to our heart.
With those pleas, He strengthens. With our sobs, He reaffirms He is near and to Him trust again. Those encounters are difficult, but necessary to build on the cornerstone He has placed in us to rebuild life again. One where His promises are fulfilled. Promises where He renews life again. Where we thrive in His embrace and laugh in the blessed life He leads us too. Even when it looks different than what we have planned.
In seasons where our hearts ache, each day is blessed. It is an opportunity for hope to reveal. Our “suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.” Romans 5:3b
It’s in those dark days, we experience Him walking with us in the valley of the shadow of death. He collects our tears in vials as we open our broken hearts for Him to heal. He embraces us when we find ourselves anxious and alone.
In those moments, when we exhaust ourselves, the Champion of our heart is seen. Mercy pours over shattered pieces of our heart as He uses what was intended to harm us for a beautiful love story. One showing His compassion, devotion and pursuing love.
So I press on into this unforeseen step of faith. I am given so much more than my broken heart knows and my heart beams. His love for us is abundant and in our brokenness He gives us the lifeline of hope.
Stretch and reach out for the hope, dare to take the next step, and when you place your feet there; bask in the moment. Stay there awhile, invite Him in.
I promise that step, though it may be difficult, will take you to a height with a life changing view.
I Peter 1:3-6 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials.”
